Following the game’s release last month, SEGA has released a content roadmap for Sonic Frontiers that includes a bunch of free updates coming to the game in the coming year. 

All three of the free updates are planned for release in 2023, but now solid release dates have been given at this time. 

Here’s what each of the three major updates will add.

Update 1:

  • Juke Box

  • Photo Mode

  • New Challenge Modes

Update 2:

  • Sonic’s Birthday

  • Open Zone Challenge

  • New Koco

Update 3: 

  • Playable Characters & New Story

Some of those descriptions are very vague, with something like “Sonic’s Birthday” not really meaning much at all. Nonetheless, there’s free stuff coming for Sonic Frontiers, and obviously, that third update with the new story and characters will get most players excited.

As a bonus, players can also download a free Christmas outfit for Sonic on December 21st.
