Sonic The Hedgehog is out today in cinemas and if you’re reading this as the credits have begun to roll, or prior to your screening and wondering if the film contains an after-credits stinger, yes it does.

WHEN IS IT?

You don’t have to wait long. There’s a quick scene just prior to the credits that are a kinda epilogue and then the credits will begin with an animated sequence featured a video game rendition of Sonic playing out the plot of the film. After these finish, you’ll get the scene.

IS IT WORTH STAYING AROUND FOR THE CLIP?

Yes, very much so. Especially for fans of the games, comics, TV series etc.

In the after-credits scene, we see a ring appearing after what is presumed to be Green Hills and someone emerging from it. When the camera pans up from the ground it’s revealed to be Tails that has emerged from the ring. Tails is a classic Sonic character that first appeared in Sonic The Hedgehog 2 video game. After speaking briefly about tracking someone to the area, presumably Sonic, Tails fly off into the distance.

This obviously sets-up a sequel with Tails, who in the games and TV show has always been Sonics best-friend and right-hand buddy.

And for those wondering, Tails looks good! It’s a classic style. They didn’t suddenly backtrack and decide to make him look like the original Sonic design for this movie.
