Early Wednesday morning Nintendo and Super Smash Bros Ultimate Director, Masahiro Sakurai, revealed the final character that’ll be “entering the fight.”

It’s Sora!

At first, I thought it was Mickey Mouse, but it turned out the Sakurai did it, and Sora from Kingdom Hearts is the last fighter to enter the game.

In the following presentation, Sakurai explained that Sora plays very similar to how he does in his game series. His attacks are fast, light, and Sora has a significant jump and recovery area. He’s an elegant character, and Sakurai thinks he’s very accessible compared to the other DLC characters.

Sora will have several different variants with a costume from Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Heart II, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Kingdom Hearts 3 and a special outfit ‘Timeless River’ based on the 50’s era Sora design.

Interestingly, Sakurai explained that Sora topped a poll in 2014 for who players wanted to be in Smash, but they didn’t want to reveal the list in case it put pressure on other companies.

Kingdom Hearts 1-3 were also announced to be coming to Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming technology, an empty announcement for us Australians. We don’t get those games here.
