Developer nDreams revealed Synapse during Thursday morning’s PlayStation Showcase. A unique-looking PS VR2 game that puts you in the control of a secret operative breaking into the mind of a rogue ex-Black Ops Colonel. If that sounds like a lot, it’s because it probably is a lot.

With a combination of dual-wielding combat that features both guns and what looks like force-powers, things look like they can get pretty intense in Synapse.

Check out the full gameplay trailer for Synapse below.

The voice actors behind the two leads are prominent in their own rights, with David Hayter (voice of Snake from Metal Gear Solid) and Jennifer Hale (voice of Shepherd in Mass Effect and Rivet in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart) playing Colonel Peter Conrad and Handler Clara Sorensen respectively.

“When nDreams first approached me about playing the character of Colonel Conrad, I was immediately intrigued,” said David Hayter. “I was impressed with the complexity of his character, the unique nature of the gameplay and I have had an absolute blast bringing Conrad to life. It’s been fantastic to work with the team at nDreams again and of course, to have the privilege of going voice-to-voice with the legendary Jennifer Hale.”

“Working on Synapse has been a really great experience,” said Jennifer Hale. “The team at nDreams have done an incredible job with the game and it’s immensely satisfying knowing I’ll be helping Synapse’s players to take David down.”

Synapse is coming to PS VR2 exclusively on July 4th, 2023.
