New Blood Interactive has announced a new pixel-art survival horror from developers Andrés Borghi and Saibot Studios.

With a monster with candles coming out of its head and old-school survival horror gameplay paired with live-action cinematics, Tenebris Somnia looks like it could be an interesting mix of ideas.

Play

Tenebris Somnia is a survival horror adventure in the same vein as classics like Silent Hill or Resident Evil, but adapted to a retro 2D environment more typical of the N.E.S. or Famicom.

You will struggle to survive while solving puzzles and fighting horrible creatures.

Yet the secrets of the game lie within its cinematics. When you reach certain key points you will see sequences with a completely different aesthetic, made in live action with real actors and created by a professional and award winning film crew.

Tenebris Somnia will be released in late 2025. If you’re intrigued by the pitch and the trailer, you can check out the game now with a demo available on Steam.
