Control, one of our picks for Best Video Games of 2019 is getting its first expansion next week.

PS4 and PC players can look forward to playing this expansion on March 26th, while Xbox players will, unfortunately, have to wait until June 25th.

It’s been a while since release so you may be scared to jump back into the already dense universe of Control and find out what Jesse Faden is up to now, but thankfully a recent PS Blog post has helped iron out the details.

When it comes to the story for the first expansion, titled ‘The Foundation’, you’ll want to be aware it takes place after the events of the main game. If you’ve done that you’ll be able to access the DLC (after buying/installing) via the Hotline Chamber located in Central Executive.

“In The Foundation, the Astral Plane is colliding with our reality. Jesse Faden, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, must travel through the caverns of the Foundation to prevent the Astral Plane from consuming the Oldest House. The missing Head of Operations, Helen Marshall, may hold some answers to the mysteries surrounding this threat. As she travels deeper, Jesse will learn more about Marshall’s disappearance, and about the enigmatic Board.”

Antonela Pounder, the Senior Brand Manager at publisher 505 Games laid this and more out in the PS Blog post. They also noted that the DLC will take around 4-5 hours to complete.

The DLC will also introduce a new ability called Shape (not sure how it works yet), the weapon ‘Fracture.’

There’s a free March update coming to the game for everyone that will include the ‘Shield Rush’ ability that will allow Jesse to charge at and knockback enemies.

Also coming in that March update is the much-requested ability to reallocate ability points, map update and more minor fixes.

Check out the trailer below for more of a tease about The Foundation expansion.
