If you were hoping Link would jump into the fight for GOTY against Elden Ring this year, I have disappointing news. The untitled sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been delayed until 2023.
In a video posted on the Nintendo Youtube account overnight, series producer Eiji Aonuma announced that the highly anticipated next entry in the Zelda franchise will launch sometime in Autumn 2023.
There’s a nugget of new footage from the game in the video below for you hardcore Zelda fans to try and theorise about for months to come.
Considering the game never had a definite 2022 release date, you can take this as only a slight delay. If it was going to release at the end of this year, now it’ll hopefully launch around March-April in 2023.
