JustWatch has revealed the top streaming movies and TV shows for the week of 30/08 – 05/09.
Having just hit Premium VOD, The Suicide Squad (rent now via Prime Video) has jumped to the top of the movie streaming charts. Although the premium price tag might deter some from renting or buying the film when they could watch it in the cinema instead, that’s currently not an option for many states in Australia. In second and third place this week is a duo of films related to the release of the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, which teases a cross-over with Spider-Man of the past. Sam Rami’s original Spider-Man (rent now via Prime Video) film is in second place, with Spider-Man: Far From Home (rent now via Prime Video) at third. It’s worth point out that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is in the fifth position to make sure one of each Spider-Man.
The debut of Only Murders in the Building (stream now via Disney+) recently has kept up steam as the Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez lead comedy sits at the top of the TV streaming charts. In second place is Vigil (stream now via Binge), a new BBC crime drama that’s currently three episodes deep. And in third place is The White Lotus (stream now via Binge), which, although wrapped up several weeks, is still sitting comfortably in the top three most-streamed programs. I think word-of-mouth has done quite well for this one, and I only myself only recently caught up after seeing it sitting in the charts each week.
