The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered Launches In September With Free Upgrade

CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, an upgrade to its beloved RPG, is launching on September 29, 2026.

The upgrade will be free for existing owners and adds enhanced visuals and performance, alongside improvements to combat, traversal and movement, monster behaviour, and mount handling. There are some more substantial gameplay changes too, including revamped skill trees, new Witcher Sign effects, transmogrification, expanded photo mode and new finishers.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered launches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, while a native Nintendo Switch 2 version will also arrive on September 29.

Alongside the remaster, CD Projekt Red also shared more about Songs of the Past, a new paid expansion coming in 2027.

The expansion takes Geralt to ‘Letten’, a new region built around rural traditions, folklore, and festivals. Songs of the Past is being co-developed with Fool’s Theory, whose leadership includes veterans of The Witcher 3 development team.

As another bonus, all existing owners of The Witcher 3 are being given access to Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine at no additional cost.
