As we all try to deal with the news that Henry Cavill will not return as Geralt in Netflix’s fourth season of The Witcher, we have other Witcher-related projects to consider. First on your mind should be The Witcher: Blood Origin, which received a brand-new trailer this morning.
The Witcher: Blood Origin is a prequel set 1200 years before Geralt. The four-episode mini-series will take place in an elven world, give the origin story of the first prototype Witcher, and explain the events leading up to the worlds of monsters, men and elves all being merged into one.
Here’s the official teaser trailer
“Set in an elven world 1200 years before the time of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, The Witcher: Blood Origin will tell a tale lost to history: the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that led to the pivotal Conjunction of the Spheres, when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.”
The Witcher: Blood Origin stars Michelle Yeoh, Sophia Brown, Laurence O’Furain, Mirren Mack, Lenny Henry, Dylan Moran, Minnie Driver and more.
The mini-series will debut on December 25th, so watch it with your family for Christmas or relax with the four episodes on boxing day (as long as you don’t have to work).
