Director/writer David Robert Mitchell and star Maika Monroe are reuniting for They Follow, the sequel to It Follows, the horror sensation of 2014/2015. 

It Follows was a massive critical and financial success story. The film has an 83 Metascore and debuted at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival to wide acclaim. It grossed $23.3 million at the box office off its $1.3 million budget—a mild 179% upswing.

The film starred Maika Monroe as Jamie, a young woman who is stalked by a supernatural entity after a sexual encounter leaves her as the being’s next target. 

They Follow begins production in 2024 and will be produced and released by Neon in the U.S.

David Robert Mitchell’s follow-up to It Follows was the crime mystery Under the Silver Lake, which starred Andrew Garfield and Riley Keough, although it was met with mixed reactions.
