Valorant Launches On PS5 And Xbox Series X|S In Australia With Local Servers
Valorant is now available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Australia and New Zealand, with local Sydney servers
Riot Games has officially launched Valorant on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in Australia and New Zealand, with local console servers going live on September 23, 2026.
The free-to-play tactical shooter from the team behind League of Legends is now available on console in both countries, with access to the Sydney server for local competitive matches.
Console players can compete against each other whether they’re on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. However, cross-play between consoles and PC isn’t supported, and Riot Games keeps the player pools separate to maintain competitive balance. Progression is shared across platforms through your Riot Account, so you can still use all your unlockables.
We checked out some of the action at a free event during PAX last week, and although I haven’t downloaded Valorant to my console yet, it ran smoothly!
You won’t need a paid console subscription like PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold to play either; you need an internet connection and to download the game from the store.
Have you been waiting to play Valorant on console, or are you sticking with the PC version? Let me know in the comments below.
