Wholesome Direct 2024 delivered another full hour of great games that standout from the loud and bombastic games seen in most other streams and showcases accross June.
Here are all the trailers and news that was shown during the Wholesome Direct 2024.
MythMatch
In MythMatch it looks like you’re combining Greek mytholegy based creatures and the game has a very vibrant art style.
Mythmatch has a demo available now on Steam.
Caravan SandWitch
I saw this one pop up in my inbox recently and want to learn more as it’s a game about travelling through an apocalypse in a caravan and by foot. It seems to be all puzzles based, but with some evil lurking in the background.

Tiny Bookshop
In this game you run a second-hand book store and have to make decisions to help your customers find their right book.
A demo for Tiny Bookshop is available now.
Été
This is a painting and narrative-based game where you explore a city and paint items and areas back to life.
Discounty
Finally, feel the power of running a supermarket in Discounty. Make the right decisions and build your supermarket up, but beware, as there seems to be some twist in this one.
Rooster
Inspired by traditional Chinese art and food, each level in this game has a different mini-game and art style based on a different animal on the Chinese Zodiac calendar.
Rooster is scheduled to release in Q1 2025.
Playdate – New Games Montage
I’ve done my best to grab what I think these games were about in the couple seconds they were on the screen.
- Spellcorked – making some recipes
- Reel-isitic Fishing – fishing game
- Faraway Fairway – You’re a bird now
- Bloom – life sim
- Escape the Arcade – puzzle game, I think
- Rowbot Rally – rowing game with speed trials
Into the Emberlands
You need to help protect villages by venturing into the wilds with your ember lantern, meeting and saving new creatures and gathering resources.
Into the Emberlands is entering Early Access on June 19th. There’s also a demo for the game available now.
Squeakross: Home Squeak Home
This is a Picross game using cheese.
Squakroos: Home Squeak Home is scheduled to be released in 2025.
Wholesome Games Merch

Critter Cafe
There’s some wild looking critters in Critter Cafe and you must solve puzzles in dungeons to save them and then wleocme them back into your cafe.
Garden of the Sea
Here’s a garden game by the sea, but in a first-person view. You’ll also go on quests to find new creatures and things to build your garden by the sea.
Fantastic Haven
Save the land and the magical creatures that live upon it in Fantastic Haven.
Fantastic Haven is scheduled to release in Q3 2024.
Crab God
In this game from Australian developer Chaos Theory Games, you help crabs clean up and care for reefs, which are home to our animals and oceans.
Crab God is set to release on June 21, and there’s a demo available now on PC.
ILA: A Frosty Glide
You play as a witch who is trying to make her way to the highest part of the mountaintop.
There’s a demo for ILA: A Frosty Guide available no on PC.
Sally
Aboard an airship, you can talk to people, make meals, or work on the ship itself. Travel to the worlds below and gather items and ingredients to help grow your airship.
You’ll have to wait a bit to play Sally in Q4 2025, but a demo is avaliable now on PC.

Dungeons of Hinterberg
Some new gameplay of Dungeons of Hinterberg in this trailer showed off the puzzle gameplay.
Dungeons of Hinterberg is scheduled to release on July 19, and there’s also a demo avaliable now on PC.
Fruitbus
It’s a road trip adventure to gather all of Grandma’s friends for one last meal.
Jump into the Fruitbus when it releases in October this year, but until then check out the demo avaliable now on PC.
Freeride
This looks like a social sim with some wild characters and designs but deep social themes.
Freeride is scheduled to release in Q1 2025, but until then you can download and play Freeride: The Personality Test Demo on PC.
Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge
Restore the wetlands and make the best frog refuge ever in this game. It’s all about looking after frogs.
Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge is out now on PC and Nintendo Switch.
Lost and Found Co.
It’s a ‘Where’s Wally’ type game with some deeper narrative elements tied in.
A demo for Lost and Found co. is avaliable now on PC.
Littlelands
It’ll be impossible not to think of Zelda when looking at Littlelands, but it seems to focus on exploration, collecting things over big boss fights, and saving the world.
Usagi Shima
The ‘Bunny Paradise‘ update for Usagi Shima is releasing today.
Minami Lane
Minami Lane is now coming to Nintendo Switch later this year after releasing on PC earlier in the year.
POOOOL
It looks like bollards but you’re working with some big circular shapes here that seem to grow and explore as you hit them.
POOOOL is out now on PC.
Tiny Lands 2
This is a “spot the difference“ game with photo-realistic 3D instances to look into and explore, now with up to two players.
Moonstone Island
Moonstone Island will be arriving on Nintendo Switch on June 19.
Rolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends
This is a sushi restaurant game in which you play as a robot trying to do your best to get everyone’s dishes out on time. It’s out now on PC.
On Your Tail
Explore an idelistic beach villa in On Your Tail, but beware that ther’es a mystery to solve ebtween allthe cooking and socialising.
On Your Tail will release later in 2024, but until then there is a demo avaliable to check out on PC.
Spilled!
This eco-focused boat game has some standout pixel art.
No release date is set for Spilled! but a demo is avaliable on PC.
The Palace on the Hill
You must help your father through a tough summer by picking up odd jobs and helping out at home.
The Palace on Hill is out now on Steam.
Travellers Rest
Travellers Rest is getting a ‘City & Story‘ update in July.
You can buy Travellers Rest on PC now and it’s in Early Access.
SOEDESCO – Highlight Montage
SOEDESCO shared three games in their reel.
- Petit Island – anamorphic animals and exploroing a big island.
- Albatroz – head off on a hiking adventure with your friends
- Magical Bakery – it’s a baking game but with some magic.
While Waiting
Another trailer for While Waiting showcases its 100+ “meaningless scenarios.”
A demo for While Waiting is available now on PC.
Sopa: Tale of the Stolen Potato
You play as a kid who is kidnapped, or at least lead into a weird world byu a lizard creature.
Sopa: Tale of the Stolen Potato is scheduled to release in Q3 2024.
Tracks of Thought
It’s an odd train with everyone on the train forgetting things and you have to do “battle“ with them and use cards to help everyone remember what everyone is up to.
Tracks of Thought was released today and is out now on PC.
