Yellowjackets has been renewed for a fourth season by Showtime following its record-breaking season three finale.
As reported by Deadline, Yellowjackets has been picked up for a fourth season, following its 3M global viewers in seven days on the season three finale, which made it the most-streamed episode in the series’s history.
In the third season of Yellowjackets, the group of high school girls who crashed and ended up in the wilderness, embraces making it out of winter alive from season 2 and looks for more ways to survive in a place they slowly embrace as a home. Meanwhile, the adult characters, in the present timeline, deal with the fallout of the season 2 finale, which saw Natalie’s death.
Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, said:
“Yellowjackets has become a cultural juggernaut, with season three shattering all previous records – we are thrilled to announce its renewal for a season four on Paramount+.”
The third season of Yellowjackets seemed to be moving the show forward, and potentially to the point of the teenage characters finding their escape in the fourth season.
