Gears of War is coming to PlayStation this August, when a remaster of the original Gears of War game will be released.

Xbox announced the news this morning that a long-rumoured remaster would be coming, and it’s titled Gears of War: Reloaded. The game will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC and the big one, PlayStation 5, on August 26th. First-time players on PlayStation will be able to play. The franchise has been one of the most wanted on PlayStation since the Xbox 360 days, to the point there have been plenty of fake PlayStation Gears of War videos and Photoshop jobs over the years. See below for just one example that came to mind with the news this morning.

Gears of War: Reloaded will run at 4K with 60fps support in the campaign and 120fps in multiplayer. You’ll experience the game in its best look and sound, with Dolby Vision/Atmos support and VRR implementation alongside the remaster’s work, providing updated visuals. There will also be zero loading in the campaign. The game also includes all of the content included in the Ultimate Edition previously.

For those fans that already own the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, you’ll get a code for Gears of War: Reloaded in a direct message to your Xbox account.
