Friday morning Nintendo had a healthy dose of announcements to share in a 40-minute Nintendo Direct. Highlights included Bayonetta 3 (yep!), a new Kirby game and Splatoon 3 details.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Play

This “massive expansion” is coming to Monster Hunse Rise in Summer 2022.


Mario Party Superstars

Play

Returning boards from the N64 include Woody Woods, Yoshi’s Tropical Island and Horror Land. And there’s also ‘Mount Mini-Games’ to play in co-op or competitive mini-game action. All boards and the mini-games will be playable online.

Mario Party Superstars is releasing on October 29 for Nintendo Switch.


The Voice of Cards: The Island Dragon Roars

Play

The combat, story and world exploration are told entirely through cards in The Voice of Cards. A new game from Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito of Nier fame. A demo is available on the e-shop from today.


Disco Elysium – The Final Cut

Play

The award-winning Disco Elysium launches on October 12 for Nintendo Switch.


Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Expansion Pass

Play

Wave 2: Guardian of Remembers is out on October 29.


Chocobo GP

Play

Exclusively releasing for Nintendo Switch in 2022. Includes online players and tournaments for up to 64 players.


Super Smash Bros Ultimate

October 5 at 7 AM PT will be the final announcement and reveal of the last fighter to enter the game.


Kirby and The Forgotten Land

Play

A brand new 3D Kirby game is coming in the Spring of 2022, in which Kirby washes up on a beach and explores an end-of-the-world looking Earth.


Animal Crossing Direct

Play

You can look forward to new Animal Crossing news in October, with free content coming in November.


Mario Golf: Super Rush

Play

Koopa Troopa is joining the competition and Ninji alongside two new courses in a free update coming today to Mario Golf: Super Rush.


Disney Magical World 2: Enhanced Edition

Play

Remember that bizarre Mii/Disney game? It’s back, and it still scares me.


Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

The original, not the recently announced remake coming to PS5 — it’s coming to Nintendo Switch soon.


Dying Light 2 – Cloud Version

Coming to Nintendo Switch when Dyinght Light 2 launches in February next year. Remember, this is a Cloud Only version, which means unless something changes, we can’t play it in Australia.

Dying Light – Platinum Edition

The first Dying Light game is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 19.


Triangle Strategy

Play

Following the demo release earlier in the year, the team has taken aboard the criticism and updated several mechanics and features. Triangle Strategy will now launch on Nintendo Switch on March 4, 2022.


Metroid: Dread

Play

A new and intense trailer for Metroid: Dread explains the backstory of the game. Samus is researching a mysterious and potentially deadly virus on a planet when she runs into creatures and a deadly hunter.


Nintendo Switch Online

Play

Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games are officially joining the Nintendo Switch Online library under a new subscription plan. The pricing and exact release date haven’t been locked in just yet.

The Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis control pads for Nintendo Switch were also announced, and they can be purchased from Nintendo’s online store.


Shadowrun Trilogy

Play

All three games are included in one package releasing in 2022.


Castlevania Advance Collection

Play

It is launching on Nintendo Switch later today.


Actraiser Renaissance

Looking a lot nicer than its SNEWS dates, Actraiser Renaissance is launching today on Nintendo Switch.

Mario Movie

The voice cast of the upcoming Mario movie was revealed during the Nintendo Direct. Chris Pratt is voicing Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy is voicing Peach, Charlie Day is voicing Luigi, Jack Black is voicing Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key is voicing Toad, and Seth Rogen is voicing Donkey Kong. Original Mario voice actor Charles Martinet is involved in some fashion through cameo roles.

December 21, 2022 release date at least for North America.


Splatoon 3

Play

Details on Splatoon 3’s multiplayer showed off new weapons and even vehicles.

Return of the Mammalians is the name of the single-player campaign, and it looks bizarre and exciting.


Bayonetta 3

Play

The Queen is here! I don’t care about any other games in 2022 because we’re finally getting Bayonetta 3. Also, it looks like Virgil showed up at the end of this trailer, I’m not too sure as I was too excited.
