Apex Legends players waiting for the next-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are getting half an update tomorrow. A PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version of the game is launching, but it’ll be missing a lot of features that fans would be expecting.
For Xbox players, the update will push your version of the game to the correct one. For the PS5 players, you’ll need to go into the store or game library to download the PS5 launcher or press “option” on the Apex Legends game and open the “select version” tab to find the PS5 version.
But what’s coming with this update?
-
Native 4K and 60fps gameplay
-
HDR with higher resolution shadow maps
-
Greater LOD distances
All of that is nice, but the majority of things players will be looking for will be coming in a future update. That includes adaptive triggers and haptics for PS5 and a 120fps mode, along with visual and audio improvements for both consoles.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game launch as part of the Warriors Collection Event, which runs from March 30th until April 13th. Control returns as part of this limited event and the addition of a new Arena map, Crypto’s new Heirloom, and a reward tracker with limited edition skins and rewards.
