Apple HomePod Mini 2 Announced For Australia With Siri AI And Surround Sound

Apple's HomePod Mini 2 launches in Australia in October 2026

Apple has announced the HomePod Mini 2, the first addition to its HomePod Mini range in years. It adds new features and colours, and it launches at the end of October.

The biggest addition is Siri AI support, plus speaker upgrades thanks to the Apple S10 chip, which can now adjust audio performance on the fly. You can also use four HomePod Mini 2s with an Apple TV 4K to set up a proper surround sound system, as it automatically detects speaker positions and adjusts audio timing to suit the room you’re in.

When you’re playing audio, it’ll now also use ‘Sound Glow’ that makes the top of the speaker pulse and change colours in response to the music and match the colours of the album.

Siri AI won’t be available at launch. Still, it’ll work like Siri AI across all Apple devices, enabling more natural conversations with Siri and access to a broader range of information.

The Apple HomePod Mini 2 launches in Pink, Green, Blue, White, and Midnight for $229 AUD, and pre-orders are open now.
