Gritty Australian film Get Free, which is based on real Australian incidents of human slavery, is in theatres from November 2, with a series of Q&A screenings. You can also request your own screening, thanks to Fan-Force.
The film was filmed across NSW and features an ensemble cast of young talent behind and in front of the camera. An ensemble cast includes Shane Emmett (Nine Perfect Strangers, Total Contro), Kaitlyn Boye, Ana Thu Nguyen (The Spy Who Never Die, Suka) and Kelly McRae. The film is directed by Australian of the Year finalist Dr. Daniel Widdowson, with a script by Craig Giles, who said:
“Get Free is a mirror held up to society, revealing the shadows of human trafficking in Australia that most Australians are unaware of. It’s an urgent message and an opportunity to spark change.”

“What happens when seven girls are captured, but none have a gun?
In the aftermath of a gruelling day at the hospital, medical intern Kaylee escapes from reality. She finds solace in a night out with her glamorous friends. Amid the glimmering lights and laughter, she crosses paths with Jordan, a charming and perfect gentleman. Drawn by his charisma, she joins him for coffee at an opulent hotel, unaware of his sinister secrets.
Kaylee’s friends unwittingly fall victim to spiked drinks, orchestrated by Jordan, taking them into a web of danger and deceit. However, her resolve falters when Vince’s chilling threats target her little brother, forcing her into compliance with their wicked plans.
Lynn, a tenacious mother, reaches out to detective Ayesha for assistance, their paths collide when Lynn tries desperately to gain Ayesha’s support. Despite their initial discord, the urgent mission to rescue the girls, forges an alliance.
Sergeant Marley, recognizes Ayesha’s unique capabilities, empowers her to take charge of the investigation. As they delve deeper into the dark underbelly of crime, Ayesha and Kaylee discover the chilling extent of Vince and Mel’s depravity. Together, they must navigate treacherous waters to bring these criminals to justice.
