JustWatch has revealed the most streamed movie and TV shows for July 2023.

What did you watch last month? What was your most streamed TV series? Let me know in the comment section below.

Movies

1.) Mission Impossible – Fallout

It’s not at all surprising that both Mission Impossible – Fallout sits at number one for July, while Rogue Nation is fourth, and even the first film, Mission Impossible, appears on the list at ninth. With the latest film in cinemas, more than a few people either wanted to catch up on the last couple of films in the long-running Tom Cruise action franchise or do a full re-watch of the film.

2.) A Man Called Otto

I think A Man Called Otto ending up in second place for July is thanks to it being both a newer film and is available to stream on both Prime Video and Binge.

3.) The Super Mario Bros. Film

One of the biggest films of the year hits VOD, and people are more than happy to pay for it. You can only rent or buy The Super Mario Bros. Film right now, and for half of July, it would have been a premium rental, but it still did big numbers.

4.) Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation

[Tom Cruise]

5.) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

The third Guardians of the Galaxy film is only available to purchase or as a premium rental right now, which is something given it’s the fifth-highest streamed movie of July. It will be available on Disney+ this week, so it might also appear on the August list.

Here’s the complete top ten list of movies for August 2023.

  1. Mission Impossible – Fallout

  2. A Man Called Otto

  3. The Super Mario Bros. Film

  4. Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation

  5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

  6. Don’t Worry Darling

  7. John Wick: Chapter 4

  8. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

  9. Mission Impossible

  10. Black Adam

TV Shows

1.) The Bear

The second season of The Bear was finally released on Disney+ a week ago, and it appears to have been Binged by all fans of the series.

2.) Deadloch

One of my favourite new series so far in 2023 is a very weird Australian series on Prime Video. Seeing it do well makes me happy. You should check it out if you haven’t already. You could have, given it’s second on this list.

3.) Hijack

The mini-series on Apple TV+ starring Idris Elba attempting to keep a plane full of people safe while it’s hijacked has taken Australia by storm. Its place as third is shocking to me, considering I haven’t seen much talk about it from anyone I know or social media. But I better add it to my list of things to check out sooner than later.

4.) Outlander

The first half of Outlander: Season 7 has continued to prove super-popular in Australia and worldwide. The series even has a time limit of “28 days to watch” the episodes before they’re removed from Binge, which doesn’t matter for everyone watching it week by week.

5.) Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan has finished with the fourth and final season released on Prime Video. It didn’t end with a whimper either, picking up a strong audience throughout July.

Here’s the complete top ten list of TV series for August 2023.

  1. The Bear

  2. Deadloch

  3. Hijack

  4. Outlander

  5. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan

  6. Succession

  7. Silo

  8. Justified: City Primeval

  9. Utopia

  10. Full Circle
