The first full trailer for Dropbear has been released, and it looks like a ridiculously good time.
The film follows a group of American tourists who first get pranked with a fake ‘dropbear attack,‘ only for it to become real when a real one attacks. The American tourists have terrible accents, some fantastic stereotypes are played up, and the trailer ends with a stellar reveal of the Dropbear costume. I’m all in.

Dropbear is a term invented by Aussies as a playup on koala, which seemed to become part of my vocabulary in High School when my age group started making jokes about dropbears, but I’m not sure who heard it first, or where it came from. Like all good lingo, it just happened, I guess. The term is meant to be a gag to scare tourists travelling here, so the plot of the film is directly in line with that.
