In massive news for the TTRPG community over the weekend, the ultra-popular team of Critical Role, who turned ‘actual-plays’ into a thing, took to the stage for the Critical Role live show in Indianapolis and delivered something fans couldn’t have expected.

In the upcoming Campaign 4 from Critical Role, the Dungeon Master will no longer be Matthew Mercer, the man who, worldwide, and by all DM’s everywhere, has been given the title of unanimously the best DM any players could have. Instead, he will be joining the table as a player. Taking over the reins of Critical Role: Campaign 4 will instead be Brennan Lee Mulligan, a hugely popular Dungeon Master in his own right, for his work on shows like Dimension 20 on the network Dropout.

You can watch the full announcement for Critical Role: Campaign 4 in the video below. It’s a lot of fun to watch play out with a crowd of Critters.
