Deltarune: Chapter 2 is out now for free, plans for Chapters 3-5 will cost money when released

Deltarune: Chapter 2 has officially launched, and although we initially thought it wouldn’t be a free download, it is! Alongside that tiny bombshell, the release has shed some more information on the upcoming Deltarune schedule and how many chapters there will be.

On the Steam and Itch pages for Deltarune, it now states that yes, Chapter 1 & Chapter 2 are free, but that Chapters 3-5 are in development. What’s more, is that they will be available as a paid release sometime in the future. Does this mean separately? Does it mean Chapters 3-5 will release as one game for one price? I have no idea.

Since we had barely any information in the lead up to the release of Deltarune: Chapter 2, I’d expect as much going forward. But for now, there’s a new game in the Undertale parallel story, Deltrarune, to play, and I think many people are playing it. It broke itch.io for a moment.
