One of the most exciting games revealed this week was Ebenezer and The Invisible World, a game with such a fun and interesting concept I needed to know more about immediately.

In Ebenezer and The Invisible World, you play Charles Dickens’ classic character, Ebenezer Scrooge, a year on from his visit and change of heart as depicted in many versions of the story on-screen and stage. One night Scrooge is visited by Jacob Marley, one of the ghosts of Christmas Past, who reveals that Caspar Malthus has gone through the same three-ghosts treatment as Ebenezer, but instead of coming away having learned a lesson, he’s chosen to use what knowledge about the future he has to make his dreams come true soon than later. And with dark spirits working with Malthus, Scrooge and Marley must team up to stop him.

All of the art in Ebenezer and The Invisible World is beautifully hand-drawn. Victorian-era London looks stunning, and this Metroidvania will surely be beautiful to explore.

Check out the reveal trailer below.

Developer Orbit Studio is releasing Ebenezer and The Invisible World later this year on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. I hope it’s out in time for Christmas.
