Everything Announced At BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony

BlizzCon 2026 was held in Anaheim, with Blizzard using the Opening Ceremony, as always, to share a bunch of news and announcements.

This year was a big one, with the first teaser for both Diablo V and a new game, StarCraft, a spin-off of the StarCraft series.

World of Warcraft: Forever

Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Forever, a new way to play World of Warcraft alongside Modern and Classic.

The beta for Forever will begin on September 18, ahead of the full launch on November 5.

Diablo V

Diablo V has officially been announced, although there’s going to be a huge wait before we get our hands on it. This teaser trailer shows Sanctuary fallen and Diablo victorious. What’s next?!

Diablo V is set to release in 2029.

Starcraft

StarCraft is finally returning, but this time as a narrative-focused, open-world first-person shooter. You’ll have an even longer wait ahead for this one.

Starcraft is looking at a release in 2030.

Diablo Animated Series

Blizzard is expanding Diablo beyond video games with a new animated series currently in development at Netflix.

Warcraft III: Reforged

Warcraft III: Reforged has received a new campaign called Forsaken Kingdom, marking the first new storyline for the Warcraft RTS in more than 23 years.

It’s available now alongside Update 3.0, which introduces graphical improvements and an overhauled World Editor.

Heroes Of The Storm

Heroes of the Storm isn’t over yet, with Blizzard revealing Xal’atath as the game’s newest playable Hero.

Diablo IV Season Of Hell’s Legacy

Diablo IV: Season of Hell’s Legacy kicked off on September 16, celebrating 30 years of the franchise.

The season brings the Prime Evils and Deckard Cain to Diablo IV, along with rewards and gear inspired by different eras of the series.

Diablo IV Nintendo Switch 2

Diablo IV is now out on Nintendo Switch 2.

World Of Warcraft: Midnight

Blizzard revealed Eclipse, Update 12.2 for World of Warcraft: Midnight.

More information will be revealed in early 2027.

Overwatch Season 5

Overwatch Season 5 will introduce a new Support Hero named Doctrine, along with major reworks for Sombra and Roadhog.

LE SSERAFIM Returns To Overwatch

A new Overwatch collaboration with LE SSERAFIM is available now, coinciding with the group’s return to BlizzCon.

Hearthstone

Hearthstone is adding the Monk in 2027, marking the game’s first new playable class in more than six years.

The next Hearthstone expansion is Reign of the Black Empire.
