‘Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition’ Revives Co-Op Gamecube Title
by Dylan Blight
The couch co-op Final Fantasy game for the GameCube, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, is coming to the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Originally released in 2004 for the GameCube, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles required a GameCube, a bunch of cables and four GBA’s to play the way it was designed. It was a fully fledged co-op experience designed with communication and teamwork in mind and I never played it because I never knew enough people with the right combination of GBA’s needed.
It’ll be coming to both PS4 and Switch and while the Switch is easy to see several players sitting around playing it together, not enough details have been revealed as to whether that’ll be an option as of yet.
The game will feature online multiplayer, however, which will fix the main issues people had playing this rather obscure title in the first place.
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will be releasing in 2019 in Japan. A release date outside of Japan is not known at the moment.
