Sony Foundation Australia is calling for streamers to participate in the 2020 Gaming4Life charity event, where this year the proceeds will go towards the Australian Bushfire Crisis.
Gaming4Life this year will be aiming to hit around $150,00 AUD in support of the crisis here in Australia and you can sign up to join in the event right now at THIS link. The event will be running from February 1st until the 23rd and any and all streamers are encouraged to join the event.
Sony Foundation’s Bushfire Appeal will support young Aussies in communities most affected by the fires. Research shows that following a bushfire, 27% of children and adolescents suffered moderate or severe PTSD. Natural disasters are a unique form of trauma being distinguished by the loss of one’s local services, social networks, community hall or sports club and opportunities for social gatherings.
Helping out the fantastic cause can wield more than the feel-good nature of helping out as Sony will be handing out prizes to some lucky people who participate, or donate. So why not do both!
CEO of the Sony Foundation, Sophie Ryan said the following about the Gaming4Life efforts this year:
“CEO Sony Foundation said, “We know many people in the gaming community in Australia, and around the world, want to contribute to the Bushfire Relief efforts in a meaningful way. Gaming4Life 2020 is Sony Foundation’s way of bringing this community together to make a significant impact to aid the recovery of young people affected during this time of national crisis. The Twitch community never fails to amaze us by their continued generosity and we would like to thank all those who will take part, either streaming or donating, as every bit helps.”
We’ve signed up and will try to get our ass into gear and do some streams over February to do our part.
