A new Gremlins movie is coming, with both the series’ creators and characters, Chris Columbus, as well as Steven Spielberg, returning to produce the film. Gizmo will be back on the big screen in 2027, the first time since the release of Gremlins 2: The New Batch in 1990.

The news was confirmed by Polygon, which came from Warner Bros. Discovery’s quarterly earnings report, where CEO David Zaslav confirmed that Gremlins 3 is on the cards and that the two key creatives would be back to make the new film. Chris Columbus is directing and producing the film. Columbus wrote Gremlins; however, both the first and second films were directed by Joe Dante. Charles S. Haas wrote New Batch.
