At the Polaris Convention in Hamburg, Germany, a Guinness World Record was set for the most cosplayers in one area over the weekend.

This is the show’s second event, and it more than tripled the number of attendees in the previous year, with over 27k visitors to the event in total.

The big award, however, was awarded when a Guinness World Record event sponsored by TikTok was organised. 492 cosplayers dressed in video game-based costumes gathered in one room to surprass the previous record of 491, which was established in 2013 in Tampere/Finland. By all of one person, Polaris managed to win the world record, so I bet they’re glad no one had a stomach ache that day!

Content Creator Jasmin Gnu was asked about the event, and she said:

This was my first Polaris. I really liked the atmosphere and the diverse program. The event had a good size: I had time to talk to my community and to meet other creators and colleagues in a relaxed environment. I also love the huge cosplay area, and it was cool to be able to admire all the elaborate costumes.”

Next year’s event is planned for October 11th to 13th in Hamburg. If you’re interested, you can already sign up for an early bird discount on three-day tickets.
