Announced during this morning’s State of Play was Gundam Evolution, an upcoming free to play 6v6 Hero shooter in the vein of Overwatch and sporting some very similar UI. It’s coming to all platforms except for the Nintendo Switch.
The game features 12 initial Mobile Suit Units for free, all with only attack and support Loadouts. Suits won’t be limited to certain classes, so players will be able to select their favourite suits from their favourite series and adapt their playstyle to suit their team’s needs.

Gundam Evolution will also launch with three game modes, Point Capture, Domination and Destruction. These games sound like regular fare for these game modes and will be played across earthly and Interstellar Maps.
In a Playstation Blogpost, Kazuya Maruyama (Executive Producer, Bandai Namco Online Inc.) calls out that their main focus for the game was to blend “fast and immersive Mobile Suit Team Battles” and “the ability for any Mobile Suit to clench victory using their unique set of attributes, abilities and boost tactics.”
If you are interested in knowing more, there are some upcoming Closed Network tests on PC and Playstation 4 & 5 in April, whilst the game is launching later in 2022.
