IllFonic has offered the first look at the single-player story mode for Halloween: The Game.

Revealed during the Future Games Show last week as part of Summer Games Fest 2026, the new trailer shows how you’ll be stepping into the role of Michael Myers himself, reliving and reimagining the events surrounding Halloween night in 1978.

Across six chapters, you’ll play as Michael and will stalk victims through Haddonfield as ‘The Shape,’ with narration from Dr Sam Loomis guiding the story. The campaign will explore Michael’s escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium and the murders leading up to his infamous confrontation with Laurie Strode.

“Halloween is one of the most iconic horror films ever made, and we knew that bringing it into a game meant earning the right to put players behind that mask,” said Jared Gerritzen, Chief Creative Officer at IllFonic.

“We recreated specific shots, leaned into the original score’s DNA, and worked to make Haddonfield feel like the place fans remember. Now, it’s up to each player to create their own version of Michael: patient, brutal, methodical, or something else entirely.”

Halloween: The Game will release on September 8, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
