Hoyts Cinemas to Open Four New IMAX With Laser Screens Across Australia by 2025

Hoyts Cinemas has announced that four brand-new IMAX with Laser screens will open around Australia before the end of 2025. Two of them will be opening in Victoria, one in Western Australia, and another in New South Wales.

These new IMAX with Laser cinemas will use dual 4K projection and feature standard and premium seating options. Laser means there’s higher resolution, and overall it provides brighter colours on the screen.

The screens will open in the locations listed below, with estimated opening times.

• HOYTS Chadstone (VIC) – opening mid-November;
• HOYTS Carousel (WA) – opening mid-December; 
• HOYTS Melbourne Central (VIC) – opening mid-December; and
• HOYTS Blacktown (NSW) – opening mid-December.

And there’s plenty of big-screen IMAX movies coming for the rest of the year to make use of these new screens, including The Running Man, Wicked: For Good, and Zootopia 2, all arriving in November, followed by Avatar: Fire and Ice in December.
