Devolver Digital and developer Dark Dark Goose have revealed HYPERDROP, a new pachinko-inspired roguelite coming to PC.

The idea is pretty straightforward: drop a ball and try to create increasingly ridiculous combinations to score as many points as possible. Players start with an empty pegboard and gradually turn it into a scoring machine by adding and upgrading pegs.

Those upgrades can split a ball into several balls, send them back to the top of the board, create gravity wells, or trigger explosions that set off larger chain reactions.

The balls themselves can also be modified, with upgrades that change their size, bounce and other properties. Different ball types have their own physics behaviours, adding another element to consider when deciding where to make your next drop.

While there’s plenty of physics-driven chaos involved, HYPERDROP still puts players in control of their build through peg placement and upgrade choices.

Runs progress through increasingly difficult stages with different modifiers and boss battles, while completing runs opens up new challenges and alternate board layouts.

HYPERDROP has no release date yet, but a free demo is available on Steam now.
