Nintendo’s Inside the House of Indies — Holiday Event, Day 5

Inside the House of Indies Day 5: Sports Story Shadow-Drops on Switch

The final day of Nintendo’s holiday indie showcase delivered the one many were waiting on: Sports Story is out now. Nintendo also spotlighted three indies to watch in 2023.

Out now

Sports Story (Sidebar Games)

In this all-out sporting RPG, you’ll climb the ranks across golf, tennis, and football. Level up your sporting rank to unlock even more disciplines—BMX, volleyball, cricket, and more. It’s not just sports either: explore dungeons and abandoned ruins, roam the Wildlands, or chill at the mall with daily attractions, specialty shops, and minigames.

PSA: Golf Story is 53% off on the eShop right now.

Coming in 2023

Sea of Stars (Sabotage Studio)

A prequel to The Messenger, this turn-based RPG follows two Children of the Solstice—a Lunar Monk and a Solar Blade Dancer. Expect a freely traversable world, timing-based combat, and a story with plenty of twists. Sea of Stars launches on Nintendo Switch in Summer 2023.

Dust & Neon (David Marquardt Studios & Rogue Games, Inc.)

An action-packed twin-stick roguelite set in a post-apocalyptic Wild West. As a mysterious gunslinger, you’ll take on robot hordes and cinematic boss fights with twitch-precise gunplay and steady progression. Launches in Early 2023.

UNDYING (Vanimals & Skystone Games)

After a zombie bite, Anling has limited time to ensure her young son Cody can survive a hostile world. Teach skills, manage trust, and navigate a striking low-poly wasteland filled with NPCs—some helpful, some not. Launches in Spring 2023.

That’s a wrap on Inside the House of Indies. Playing any of these over the holidays? Tell us what’s first on your list in the comments.
