Funko Pop have a new release, a new blind box titled ‘Kiguzooomies,’ which adds to the many choices of these that most toy stores now have sat all over their front counter. The benefit of this one is that, after opening the box, the toys are very cute and surprisingly detailed.

The Kiguzoomies are a set of 12 animal critters dressed in pyjamas of other animals. Which means you have Penny the penguin dressed as a rat, Butter the panda as a dog, Peanut the dog as a horse, and more. There’s also a 1-in-36 chance to open the chase figure, which I didn’t open. ‘Kirgurmi’ is a Japanese term for animal-themed onesies, or “cosplay pyjamas,” which is why it’s combined with ‘zoomies’ to name these critters.

Each character is themed after their Zodiac sign, with explanations for why they’re choosing to wear certain other animal pyjamas. A piece of paper I was provided with, the press box I was sent, provides information on each of their zodiac signs, explanations of their personalities, and which other characters they’re most perfectly paired with. The start of the Lunar New Year at the moment is also the perfect time to get into opening some Zodiac-themed animals.

Looking at the images of the animals before opening my box, I had assumed they’d be much smaller and less detailed than they actually are, but after opening the box, I was proven wrong.

I opened ‘Fluzzy as Rabbit’, which is about 6cm tall, but the information states that the figure can be up to 10cm. Fluzzy is standing in a very cute pose, holding onto its carrot while in its rabbit Kigurumi. It’s also slightly flocked, adding a nice detail to areas of it, in Fluzzy’s case, on the back of the ears, the face and tail, while the carrort and other toys are just normal plastic.

I’m going to keep Fluzzy around my desk as I quickly fell for its cuteness. I might have to go on the hunt in some other boxes to find their perfect mate, which, according to the information I have, is Penny as Rat, Ruby as Goad, Chimi as Monkey, Butter as Dog or Dot as Boar.

The box artwork stands on a shelf with a lime-green colour and a forest background, paired with a cute character. My only complaint here, and forever will be for all blind boxes until it changes, is the plastic used for the figure on the inside.
