Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link has been cancelled, but the good news is that Kingdom Hearts 4 continues.
Sharing the cancellation news for Kingdom Hearts Missing Link on X, from the @KHMLink_Na account, where the team said, “Although we worked hard on developing and adjusting the game in the hope that it would be enjoyed by lots of players, we determined that it would be difficult for us to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time, leading us to the decision to cancel development.”
And then over on the official Kingdom Hearts X page, they said, “We’re currently working hard on Kingdom Hearts IV and will continue pouring ourselves into the game’s development. We’re dedicated to making this an experience that lives up to your expectations!”
To our Kingdom Hearts community,
We’re currently working hard on Kingdom Hearts IV and will continue pouring ourselves into the game’s development. We’re dedicated to making this an experience that lives up to your expectations! [1/2] pic.twitter.com/4lbg6l2ErZ

However, in the accompanying post, they also shared several new screenshots of the game, the most tantalising of which shows players controlling Mickey Mouse.
The cancellation of Kingdom Hearts Missing Link leaves open questions about the story and lore that were going to be included in that game and that would have tied into Kingdom Hearts 4.
Kingdom Hearts 3 took six years to release after its official announcement, and Kingdom Hearts 4 was announced in 2022, so surely we’re getting somewhere?
