After Justin Lin suddenly left the director’s seat on Fast X a week into production last week, Universal Pictures has now locked in his replacement. 

Louis Leterrier, who has previously directed Now You See Me and The Transporter, among other things, is set to take the reigns on the upcoming film in the mammoth franchise. 

Universal was between a rock and a hard place after Justin Lin stepped down from directing the film (although still on board as a producer) and reportedly lost anywhere between 600k to 1 million a day, keeping actors, including Jason Momoa and Brie Larson, and crew locked down they searched for a replacement. 

A report from New York Daily News suggested that Lin was clashing with star Vin Diesel which led to him leaving the film. 

As much as we attempted to guess who could replace Lin on the most recent episode of the ‘What Do You Wanna Watch?’ podcast, we did not guess Louis Leterrier at all, did you?
