MUBI has announced that My Undesirable Friends: Part I – Last Air in Moscow will stream exclusively on its service globally, outside Russia and Belarus.
The film is from Soviet-born American filmmaker Julia Loktev (The Loneliest Planet, Day Night Day Night) and follows Russian independent journalists as they face persecution and then witness the war in Ukraine unfold in real time.
The documentary follows the journalists Alesya Marokhovskaya, Anna Nemzer, Elena Kostyuchenko, Irina Dolinina, Ksenia Mironova, Olga Churakova and Sonya Groysman.
The follow-up film, My Undesirable Friends: Part II – Exile, will also be coming to MUBI later in 2026.
