Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment has just done the good old-fashioned reveal-and-release with their first foray into the Battle Royale genre.
The game is titled Apex Legends and although its set within the same universe as the developers Titanfall franchise — which last release was Titanfall in 2016 — it lacks the wall-running and titans of the franchise that franchise that people know it for.
If anything this new free-to-play game is more in line with Call of Duty’s Blackout mode, but even then it’s standing on its own with an emphasis on squad-play and characters with unique abilities and stories that are more in-line with Overwatch’s heroes.
The game does offer loot box items to buy and will use a Fortnite seasonal system to release, presumably, new characters, skins and other items throughout the year.
Check out the reveal trailer below which shows of the hero based characters with unique abilities and fast-paced gameplay.
You can download the game for free right now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Be sure to let us know what you think of Apex Legends.
