Red Barrells, the developer of the Outlast franchise has been teasing the third entry in the franchise for some time now and at the very end of the PC Gaming Showcase this morning we finally got any idea of what the game will be about. It’s not Outlast 3, but instead, something else that’s attempting to bring the Outlast scares to a co-op experience.
Check out the very creepy reveal trailer for Outlast Trials below.

In a cinematic trailer for the game, we see three surgeons performing on someone, seemingly putting night vision goggles onto their body. They’re then thrown into experimentation it seems as they’re shown running through a building attempting to escape a monster chasing them.
The Steam page for Outlast Trials explains that you’ll be able to play the game solo, or with up to four friends in co-op online. The game is set during the Cold War, as was revealed by Red Barrells last year, and you’ll be at the torment of the Murkoff Corporation and their sadistic experiments.
As the developer writes, “it’s always better to shit your pants in good company.”
Outlast Trials is set to release sometime in 2021.
