A massive State of Play is happening on Friday, running for an hour and featuring plenty of games with Sony stating it’ll feature “60+ minutes of news, gameplay updates, and announcements from game studios across the globe.”
Sony already got the reveal of Horizon Hunters Gathering out of the way last week, instead of saving it for this State of Play, which is rather interesting. It may still show up in some form, but getting a first-party game out the door instead of revealing it at the show itself makes it a purposeful choice.
The PS Blog post announcing the State of Play states that it will include updates from third-party and indie games, as well as “the latest from teams at PlayStation Studios.” The plural I’m taking to the bank to mean at least, surely, both Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games, and Saros from Housemarque, but we’ll find out soon enough.
