PlayStation revealed a new Astro Bot game, pulled back the curtain on Concord and more in this morning’s State of Play.
Here are all the trailers and news from the May 2024 State of Play.
Concord
A CGI trailer for Concord from Firewalk Studios introduced us to a few of the colourful characters in this PVP multiplayer shooter. The animation and voice acting brought these characters to life, even if the gameplay trailer that followed wasn’t as exciting.
The team at Firewalk Studios also discussed how the game will receive new story scenes to flesh out characters each week when players log in.
Concord will have a beta in July and a full release on PS5 and PC in August 2024. Based on the ‘pre-order soon’ wording, Concord will be priced, not F2P.
God of War Ragnarok PC
The PC release of God of War Ragnarok will include ultra-wide support and other features for PC players, plus the Valhalla DLC on September 19.
Dynasty Warriors Origins
A new Dynasty Warriors game is coming in 2025.
Infinity Nikki
This is described as an “open world x dress-up adventure,” something I haven’t seen before.
Infinity Nikki is coming to PS5 in beta later this year.
Ballard of Antara
This looked like a dark-anime-inspired soulslike.
Coming to PS5 in 2025.
Skydance’s Behemoth
From the team behind The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners comes this fantasy game in which you’re fighting small dudes and a big elephant-looking behemoth.
Coming this Summer for PS VR 2.
Alien Rogue Incussion
The Alien VR game from Survivos is coming to PS VR2 this holiday season. The greatest period for an Alien game.
Marvel Rivals
The closed beta for the PS5 version of Marvel Rivials is coming in July. Players have been playing this on PC in beta currently, and reports have been mostly positive.
Where Winds Meet
This looked like another sousl-like inspired game, set in a fuedal-fantasy period and it’s in development for PS5.
Until Dawn
The remake/remaster of Until Dawn is coming in Spring 2024 to PS5 and PC.
Path of Exile 2
With cross-play, cross-progression, and couch co-op, there are many reasons to want to play Path of Exile 2 on PS5, which is coming soon.
Silent Hill 2
The game will be released for PS5 on October 8. More information on the game will be available in the ‘Silent Hill Transmission’ after this State of Play.
Monster Hunter Wilds
In a combination of gameplay and cut-scenes, the upcoming Monster Hunter game looks to be full of new areas and wild monsters to hunt. Monster Hunter Wilds is releasing in 2025.
Astro Bot
The rumoured new Astro Bot game was officially revealed as simply Astro Bot, which looks fantastic. There’s everything in this that made the included game with PS5’s at launch special, from the PlayStation characters and cameos to the inclusion of somehow making PlayStation history and tech part of its world and story.
Astro Bot is coming to PS5 on September 6.
