Although the Pokemon Company had originally shared the news a couple of weeks ago that Pokemon Home would allow the transfer of Pokemon between Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet a couple of weeks ago, the update to version 3.0.0 in Pokemon Home was delayed. The update will now release on Wednesday, March 31st.
Alongside the new date for the update, an updated visual of what games can be transferred between was shared by the Pokemon Company. As always, the golden rule is that although all Pokemon can be transferred into Pokemon Home, you can only transfer the Pokemon either back into Scarlet/Violet or into games where those Pokemon are usable and exist. For example, this means the new Pokemon in Scarlet/Violet can’t be transferred backwards in the Pokemon Sword/Shield games.
There are a few bonuses, and you’ll be able to unlock them. The first is the ability to bring Roaming Form Gimmighoul from Pokémon GO into the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet games.
When you first transfer a Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet for the first time, you’ll be able to unlock a special Mystery Gift of Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly with Hidden Abilities as Mystery Gifts in the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME.
Some other features coming to the Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Home:
-
Turn Pokemon Home points into LP (Legit Points) for use in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
-
Choose the moves a Pokemon being transferred into a new game to learn upon joining the new game.
