Stefanie Joosten Releases Debut Album “Singing to the Sky,” Produced by Giorgio Moroder
Singing to the Sky channels a luminous mix of disco and ’80s pop, brought to life by Academy Award–winning producer, songwriter, and composer Giorgio Moroder. You may also know him from the track “Giorgio by Moroder” on Daft Punk’s final album, Random Access Memories. Notably, this is the first time he has put his name on an emerging artist’s album.
“It’s been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity working with Giorgio,” Stefanie said. Moroder added:
“Stefanie’s debut album is a celebration of disco and pop from the 80s. She’s an incredible singer with range, and we knew her voice could reinvent the past by bringing it into the future. When the masters came back we all sat back and couldn’t believe what we were hearing. It’s amazing. We haven’t heard this sound in a long time, but this particular sound, we have heard, never!”
The album is published by 110 Industries—the video game publisher behind Wanted: Dead, in which Joosten appears as gunsmith Vivienne Niemantsverdriet. You can stream the album now, and a limited-edition “shocking pink” vinyl is also available.
