Official trailer for Ramayana gives first look at new epic
The official trailer for Ramayana has been released, and the fantasy religious epic is confirmed to arrive in Australian cinemas on November 5, 2026.
Based on the Sanskrit story Ramayana by Valmiki, the religious poem that forms the basis of the Hindu epic Ramayana, this is the first of two massive films planned to tell the epic story, full of fantasy action.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi, and follows Prince Rama’s confrontation with the immortal ruler Ravana.

Ramayana features music from Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, with visual effects handled by DNEG. This is Zimmer’s first full Indian cinema debut, after previously working on one song for Fateh.
Ramayana will be released in Australian cinemas on November 5, 2026.
