Developer Pushing Vertices has unveiled a new trailer for RollerGirl during the Black Voices In Gaming Showcase as part of Summer Game Fest, giving us another look at its nostalgic slice-of-life adventure inspired by the early 2000s.
In RollerGirl, you’ll play as Naomi, a 16-year-old whose plans for freedom are derailed when the first car she buys breaks down. Desperate for money to repair it, she straps on her rollerblades, grabs her MP3 player and begins helping out the residents of her small town.

RollerGirl also features an original soundtrack inspired by the early 2000s, with exploration focused on open streets, shortcuts and hidden areas tucked away behind homes and alleyways.
“It’s great to be featured alongside other talented black developers,” said Indigo Doyle, director of Pushing Vertices. “RollerGirl is inspired by my childhood growing up in a small town, and my hope is that players feel seen and represented by our game.”
RollerGirl doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s definitely one I’ll be keeping an eye on. How about you? Let me know in the comments section below.
