New rumours are circulating that a new entry in the Titanfall franchise could be in development.

For years now Respawn Entertainment has denied that Titanfall 3 is in any stage of development. They’ve continued to hold this stance even after Apex Legends — which is based in the same universe as the Titanfall games — has become one of the most popular battle royale games.

Recently Apex Legends content creator TheNeon_Beast commented on Titanfall 3, in a now-deleted tweet saying, “Titanfall 3 is real” and continued with:

“I’m pretty sure leakers can say the same, cuz we have totally different sources. The good thing is: even with different sources, the rumor is exactly the same.”

This was followed up by data miner Biast12 quote retweeting Beasts tweet saying, “yeah I can confirm that part.” Presumably, in regards to Titanfall 3 being a real game in production.

Both of these Apex Legends leakers are known to get information correct in the past, but of course, take this with a grain of salt.

Earlier this year Respawn Entertainment announced that they’d opened a new studio in Vancouver to focus on the ongoing development of Apex Legends. With a team now focused on Apex Legends, the idea of the core Respawn team starting work on a Titanfall 3 doesn’t sound like a far-fetched idea. Although, I’m sure EA and Star Wars fans would like to see them working on a sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as well. But who’s to say they can’t be doing both.

Titanfall 2 released on October 28th, 2016 to acclaim from critics but sold poorly thanks to EA’s decision to release the game in-between Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

What do you think? Do you think we’ll be seeing a new Titanfall game anytime soon? Would you want to play it? Let me know in the comments section below.
