The Saw franchise is coming home in a roundabout way.

Deadline is reporting that Blumhouse is set to acquire the Twisted Pictures portion of the IP, which will see it back under the banner that James Wan, the creator of the franchise, works under for his films. Lionsgate would continue to own 50% of the franchise, and it would be a co-op deal for future films.

The last film in the series, Saw X, saw the franchise return to new highs at the box office, and although there has been plenty of back and forth online and in reports as to how an eleventh film would and could have played it, it has all but reportedly stalled, or, in this case, it would it has ended. If this deal goes through, it will plan a fresh production start with Blumhouse producers now involved in the future direction of the series and the next instalment.
