According to a new report from Deadline, SIFU is being adapted into a movie by the director of the John Wick films.

After the recent formation of their production studio, Story Kitchen, the creator and director of the John Wick films, Derek Kolstad, is about to begin work on adapting Slow Claps’ hit 2022 indie game, SIFU

SIFU already had comparisons to both the John Wick films and other martial arts movies, from which John Wick already draws inspiration. However, the fast-paced action game has something of a supernatural twist that the John Wick films do not. In SIFU, the protagonist wears a talisman that brings him back to life every time he dies, but he’s with the cost being an increase in his age. Players can play the SIFU and reach the final level as either a man in their young 20s or an older man in his 70s, depending on how much they die. The other twist is that you’ll have less health as you age, but you’ll hit harder than when you’re younger.
