If you thought the action and battles of Star Wars Zero Company were going to take place over just a couple of worlds, you’re way off, as developer Bit Reactor has confirmed that the game will include more than 150 planets where operations can potentially take place. However, they aren’t to be fully confused with missions, where you’ll enter into some turn-based strategic combat.
Bit Reactor has said its strategic map, The Holotable, which sits inside ‘The Den ’, Zero Company’s base of operations, which is located on the Ring of Kafrene, will include more than 150 planets where operations can potentially take place.
The Holotable is where the wider campaign plays out. Operations are non-combat assignments covering activities such as espionage, intelligence gathering, meeting contacts and dead drops. You decide which of your operatives to send on the operation, make narrative choices and collect resources, with those decisions potentially affecting relationships and later events.
Because of the way the galaxy changes as the game continues and the narrative plays out, Bit Reactor has said you won’t be able to see all of the missions, or operations, in a single playthrough, depending on what choices you make. The result is a campaign designed to change between playthroughs depending on which opportunities are pursued, which operators are used and how resources are invested back at the Den.
